No Humans Allowed
"No Humans Allowed" invited contemporary curators and artists to visit the Athenian capital from abroad, to meet and interact with the local contemporary art scene, and become acquainted to the life and culture offered by the capital.
"no humans allowed" aimed to create a brief pause in a period of continuous developments, so as to decode the tools and practices of artistic sustainability that have emerged within the chaotic framework of the crises. The exhibitions and installations were presented in clearly distinguishable rooms and spaces within Back to Athens 2022 International Art Meeting at the historic Isaiah Palace.
From November 2021 to March 2022, APART held in person meetings with young curators and artists in four European cities, Athens, Hamburg, Berlin and Vienna. The purpose of the meetings was to discuss a body of exhibitions that will examine the symptoms and impact of the significant restructurings that have occurred in recent years of the crises, as perceived by young curators and artists in collaboration with previous generation artists and curators. The results of the meetings - four group exhibitions by four young curators and artists from Greece, Germany and Austria, collected under the title "no humans allowed". The project aimed to present different yet coinciding views on common problems, conclusions and solutions of a generation that emerged in the arena of arts in the vortex of the crises during the last decade.
